I'll bet she could, too - a mighty fine young lady (20). When I told her about my "condition" (CIDP - chronic inflammatory demylinatiing polyneuropathy), she knew exactly what I was talking about - a rarity.

Send grandson on an errand, then put GF to work? Sounds like a pleasant time to me. I'll bet she'd pick it right quick! ;)

BTW, #1 grandson (UNC-CH grad) is here from Paris with his English GF

days. He finished grad program a year ago, but is still there working
for a
"think tank." Mighty fine GF (mighty fine-looking, too) is rising
senior in
college there.

I looked into learning some welding at our CC, you can't just take one
or
two classes, you have to sign up for the certificate program and it is
like
2 years of classes. You learn a lot, but not what I want to do though
I
might decide at some point. Being over 60 (just slightly!) I could do
it
free. I guess I could just take the intro courses then walk away on
the
rest.

My buddy wanted to take baking classes, he is really into baking, but
he
ended up doing the whole program too, including internships serving
food
and working in a chocolate shop (which he liked, a lot!, and so did
I!).
When he signed up they made him take an English proficiency test, he
is
retired pathologist but they said that didn't count they still had to
know
he could reed and right engrish... he finally gave up arguing with
the
instructors who could not read plain instructions on how to do stuff,
and
what the science of certain cooking reactions is, and generally
trying to
communicate with his classmates who had considerable deficiencies.
But he
can make some wicked cakes, bread, ice cream, and chocolates. I got
him
started brewing beer, he has become a fanatic about that too.

I have become pretty good at sheetrocking and plaster repair but it
is a
bit of hike to come help you out.

an

Again, I
don't need a plasterer; 'don't even need a dry-waller. I've
repaired a
lot of plaster walls and ceilings, but I'm NOT a plasterer; I've
installed and repaired a significant amount of drywall, too, but I'm
NOT
a dry-waller.

Why would you let a welder work on your teeth?

Unfortunately, most HS vocational programs are a thing of the
past.
Our
school still has them though. My son went for a vocational
welding
class, and after some years of "finding himself", is now
working as
a
welder. Imagine that.

The community college in Los Alamos (aka UNM-Los Alamos) has
welding
classes that are well attended. Perhaps that's the level at
which
Wilton
should look.
