[MBZ] 124 Alternator

Does anyone know what newer models have an alternator that will 
interchange physically with the 87 300D?  I am wondering if an alt. 
from 140, 210, 211 would fit, as most of the cars in the knackers are 
these models, not 124 or 126.  Probably kleb knows....
