I don't think thats really true, mechanization probably killed more
manufacturing jobs than anything else. That and the unions fighting
mechanization. If they'd let the factories mechanize the US would have gotten
better, more efficient factories sooner and fewer would have gone overseas.
Its only politicians that think those jobs are coming back here, you just can't
pay US wages, even minimum wage to hand make cheap crap because it won't be
cheap anymore. Its not tools people need to quit buying, its the crap,
practically everything in the dollar store for instance...
