When we went to the Raastat MB plant in 2003, you could have any color you wanted, as long as it was black or silver. Red has been lost because the gestapo pulls over red cars just for being red. Green is out because the PC crown labels you as greedy. Yellow, well pardner, nobody wants ta be called Yellah! THat leaves blue. I don't know why blue has faded away. in the 70s and earlier, we had all colors, even Plum Crazy. In the 80s, the bright colors went away. In the 90s and beyond, we have indeed been a drab nation, only without olive drab as a choice. Olive drab with a gloss is actually a nice color!

I admit, I only want a silver van. In MBs, I like most of the blues, the smoke silver, the burgundy and I will tolerate, but dislike the whites. A yeller or cream 123 is nice. The green that is an analog to Midnight blue is nice too.

I came back to my office this afternoon after a trip to the bank.

I counted 29 vehicles in the parking lot behind the building and noted that 23 of the 29 were black, grey or silver.

There were a couple of dark red to burgundy and a couple of green - one dark olive and the other acqua for lack of a better choice. I think 1 white one.

Cannot recall the last vehicle - might have been a 2nd white one.

Do not know if this is indicative of vehicles as a whole or not.

If so, we have become a drab bunch.

My car was included in the grey bunch as I am driving the Honda Civic I bought from my mother. However, I have the dark red Mercedes and the ruby red F150 at home and my wife's car is blue but on the blue-grey side of blue. If I had purchased the Honda Civic new, it would not have been the slate grey color.
