I had a brand new 1988 Suburban with the 350 TBI engine, base model, almost no options besides heat, AC and radio, with rubber floor mats. Great vehicle, plenty of power, easy to drive, and surprisingly good gas mileage considering the size and weight.
Got rid of it a few years later when my round trip commute went from 5 miles to 70. I traded it in on a brand new 91 Ford Escort wagon. Dummy dealer sales guy who was just a pup didn't calculate the residual on the lease and had to eat it when I traded it. Lost his job over that mistake. Ouch.
