This car has the classic “stacked” shift from 2-3 (really fast) and mild flare from 3-4, all of which are indicative of needing the updated springs.
Again, I’m not touching the transmission until I know the vacuum system is 100%. I know the changeover valve levers are worn out, but not missing. I need to replace the check valve on the central locking system, although that’s unlikely to affect shifting. One nice thing about the Superior kit, although it’s about 3x what the parts from Mercedes cost, is that it has the little disc for calibrating the throttle linkage position. Don’t know they cost these days, but I used to have one and they’re indispensable when it comes to properly setting up the vacuum system for proper shifts.
