Ran out for errands at lunch time to pick up some stuff from FLAPS.

Got back, got the car in the air and started the differential draining. Went
out after work was over, filled it with fresh Mobil1 75/90W gear oil.

Noticed wetness around the inside of the left rear wheel/axle, so I started
looking around. PO had complained about soft brake pedal and that he thought
one or both of the front calipers were sticking, which I haven’t checked out
closely yet. Brake hose is wet and there’s evidence of brake fluid being flung
around by the axle.

PO had a full set of ATE brake hoses ready to go on the car, so I took off the
wheel, got some wrenches, my MItyVac and siphon cup out and went to it. Took
all of maybe five minutes and I had the hose swapped with a new one. A couple
more minutes to vacuum fresh fluid into the line and caliper, and now the brake
pedal is nice and hard. I moved to the other side and it looked OK, but I shot
it with some Kroil and I’ll go back out in about 30 minutes and replace the
right rear brake hose as well.

Painters are coming tomorrow so I might have some difficulty working in the
garage depending on how they’re going to paint the door. Once I get that
sorted out I’ll start in with more fun. I was hoping to get my stock order in
at the dealer today, but no luck with that. I’ll probably clean the interior
and do some other clean up. Sunday I’ll strip the exterior of trim, door
handles and badges and get the paint sorted out.
