Both sets of my grandparents were self sufficient, with excess to sell
in the market.
I can do fairly well in a no-power situation.
The goobers and TPTB (new acronym for me) want us beholden to them,
indentured, enslaved for their power and/or protection.
240Ds are as close as there is to transportation independence. Maybe
not fast, but reliable, simple, multi-fuel, etc.
