I never understood the allure of Griots stuff. Granted, some of it is nice and
it's well marketed and packaged, but the cost is stupid compared to other
products of equal or better quality. I see it at Advance Auto on the close out
table with some frequency. Don't think their demographic is the Griots crowd.

For a long time I shunned Meguires, mainly because I didn't realize they had
different product lines - one for the WallyWorld crowd, the other for
professionals. When I discovered this my opinion of them changed drastically,
as their consumer grade stuff is not all that great, and designed, I believe,
to prevent the average consumer from mucking up their cars' finish.

Their professional stuff, however, performs as described and is pretty
reasonable from a cost standpoint. I still like 3M, but their stuff can be
expensive and you're often forced to buy it in large volumes. Meguires seems
to have a more granular choice of products, too.
