We live only minutes from major protected wilderness area. The APA (Adirondack Park Agency) may be a pain in the ass but they do a great job of keeping the sprawl under control. Our town is changing, 16 years ago we had only 1,500 year-round residents. The number has not gone up by much but 2nd homes and vacation homes have increased dramatically. So many Mom and Pop motels,cottages, etc are selling out to developers for the obvious economical gain.
