Not sure what it is like where you are, but here, if one buys an older house with out dated wiring or plumbing, the insurance companis will normally take it on but require evidence that things have been brought up to date within a short time - 30 days? Knob and tube is bad and so are fuse panels. They want breaker panels installed. Galvanized plumbing is bad. Swap to copper or pex required.
