Young daughters cat was death on blue jays. When he went outside they would swoop and peck at him. He'd stop and roll over on his back. When the blue jays swooped he would grab at them and snag them once in a while. Then he would bring the dead jay into the house and lay it at my wifes feet. This did not make her happy, but we never figured out how to stop him. When the hedge or plants around the back yard produced berries, the jays would eat them and stagger around like a drunk, but I never remember the cat catching any of them then for some reason.
