A week ago I put a test bid on an SL500 to see if it was open to public bidding.
Yesterday, when the same car came up for live bidding, complete with the big red thumbs down symbol to show that I've been outbid on this lot, it says 'you are not eligible to bid on this item'. Huh? It was a dealer only sale and they let me place preliminary bids on it? This was the Ionia auction site, where I bought my ML350 on a preliminary bid last summer, but I was able to bid on the ML during the live auction too.
