I use "Traveler" 15w40 from Tractor Supply in my '52 Farmall Super M. Seems to
work fine, comes in 2.5 gallon jugs for about what you're paying. I change it
every other year, the machine only gets 10-15 hours of run time a year. When I
had the valve cover off 2 years ago the rockers were pretty much spotless.
As long as you keep up on your changes it probably doesn't matter what you use.
In the cars I don't like to spend a bunch of time changing the oil so I use
synthetic and change it every 10,000 miles.

Another oil discussion.  I know some of you swear by high dollar
synthetics.  M1 synthetic is supposedly not real synthetic
anymore.  I usually use Delvac 1300 dino oil in my diesels but
bought some Harvest King 15W40 diesel oil at the local farm store
mainly for use in the oil burning/leaking 140.  It runs anywhere
from 10.99 to 11.99 for a 2 gallon jug.  It appears to be made by
Citgo.  Anyway, after looking into it more, this oil appears like
it might actually be a decent dino oil.  Here are links to reports
on virgin samples between the 2.  Some of the numbers look a
little better on the Delvac but I am not sure if the range of
difference is a big deal, or if the cheap oil is close enough to
make it work using at half the price.  Yes, I am cheap and I know
it.  Anyway, anything jump out to anyone as being a big difference
between the 2?
