My two small engines that get regular use have each had carb trouble just once over almost twenty years (lawnmower and two-stroke weed whacker). Lawnmower got a new carb, whacker got a rebuild kit, both decisions driven by price. Whacker also had melted fuel lines once, easy enough to replace those.
The emergency generator, and the two-stroke on the sail boat, which are seasonal use, have both given me about twice as much grief. I've considered replacing the two-stroke on the sailboat with an electric trolling motor, much easier to keep a battery or two on a maintainer in the garage. Can't sub the generator with electric, not without replacing a bunch of appliances with fossil fuel versions... A small diesel generator would be really neat! -- Max Dillon Charleston SC '87 300TD '95 E300 On July 31, 2018 6:14:37 AM GMT+02:00, Larry Turner via Mercedes <mercedes@okiebenz.com> wrote: >And I bet the problems return every 2-3 years/seasons?
