Thanks - I'll take a look at the WSM and/or Parts Diagram to make sure I'm familiar with the LCA's in the rear.  Are you suggesting I use the outer LCA  mounting point?  IIRC that's kind of rounded, isn't it?

I am thinking about raising the right rear with the floor jack (it's in good condition, only about a year old) and remove the RR wheel so I can show my wife where to put the Jack Stands.

I know not to work on a car that is raised on a jack, but I will put the removed wheel/tire on the ground under the chassis to minimize how far the car could go if the worst case happens.  And it will only be like that until I can spot the Jack Stand position.  Should be OK.  I tend to err on the side of caution.

Thanks for the suggestion....

Hmm, those pads are where I usually put my floor jack. Are you suggesting I
use the factory jack which will leave a place to put the jack stands?

Don't have enough wood blocks to do as you do, but I usually put the tire/wheel
under the car in the hopes I wouldn't get squished less that 8" - my estimate
of the width of tire and wheel I will put under the frame. ;-)

Thx,

There should be some pads or points right under the jack holes in front of the
rear wheels, put your stands under there. I have a bunch of blg wood blocks
too to stack under the frame which gives me a good feeling.

Hi ya'll,

I hope to start removing the rear wheel bearing carrier soon now that the
weather is changing for the better. I don't do well in 85F+ temps so next
weeks highs that are forecast in the 60s and 70s are getting me motivated to
start this job.

I know where the jack goes but it's been a while since I had to put jack stands
under the rear of my 91 300D. Even when I could lay on my back and look for a good
place to put the stands I recall having trouble deciding on the best location.
Bearing in mind I'll be removing the hub & carrier, where should I try to put
the jack stand? (I will have to explain your answer to my wife who will lay on the
driveway) I may move the MGB to the drive so we can work on the 300D in the
garage, will decide soon.

;-) she's a keeper!

Right now, I only plan to jack up and use a stand under the right rear.

Suggestions?

Thanks,
LarryT
