The problem with R12 was that Duponts patents were expiring, so they
jumped in with the greenie weenies to ban R12, forcing us to buy $10/lb
and up new "refirgerants" in place of $0.50/lb R12. A much better
situation for DuPont.
Liberally spending other peoples money, stolen at gunpoint, (or not) to "cure" a
nonexistent "problem."

Remember the '70s when R-12 was banned because it caused global cooling. Why
couldn't we just bring back R-12? Global cooling cancelling out global warming?
