I use only the Sav-a-Life deer alert.  These are made in Germany and sold by someone in NYC, or sometimes available for less on fleabay.   They are NOT $10, and they don't make the bambi run, they make the bambi stop in their tracks.  I can attest they DO work at speeds over 40 mph or so.

This is a pretty good price.

The $10 flaps ones, made in china;   Well made in china pretty much says it all.  YMWV.

Does anyone here use the "Deer Whistles" device that you mount on front
bumper? FLAPS most often carry them. About $10 or less. The wind through
them send out a sound that puts deer and elk on high alert and they run
away rather than toward your car.

Seem to work quite well... certainly cheap insurance, small and don't
detract from car, attach easily.
I installed a set on all the ranch vehicles after I hit a deer on a desert
road.

The 88 had throttle body injection, so it was actually pretty good on
fuel, especially on the highway.

I drove an 86 Silverado Suburban for almost 10 years. Red with the cream

trouble. Salt ate the pipes underneath twice. 350 4 barrel was great. OD
auto not so good. Rebuilt once and needed to be done again by 200 K miles
when I sold it.
