These are the bolt on axles? Can't do anything about the overtorque, but if you pull the clip in the differential and remove the stub with the axle, then you can remove the boot and grease and heat it to 400 degrees to kill the loctite. (or just drill off the bolt heads, which also solves the overtightening problem)
