I have been fairly happy with the 120G SSD's I used in our big systems,
the user files are still on big rotating media. (Easy to do with Mac.)
Unless you're doing A/V production with lots of big files you probably
won't be able to detect any speed difference versus all-SSD, and it's
vastly cheaper.

I also basically don't trust SSD's, but they have their place. I have a rant:

All of our systems are backed up to RAID via Time Machine, and two
of the four 2T RAID slices are offline and offsite at any given time.
An old Mac Pro makes an _excellent_ backup server, and is cheap.
Just have it sleep when not being used, and the power consumption
isn't even all that bad.
