Not so in Seattle. BioD has dropped to $2.99 from a high of $3.24. Unleaded of low octane is now on a par with #2, while premium gas is around $3.00 and headed upward.

I don't see the logic in the escalation of prices for diesel Mercedes. As
gas prices spike, diesel seems to go up even more! And ethanol is also
going through the proverbial roof so that biodiesel is no longer a bargain!
This makes absolutely no sense.

Rick,

you also have to point out that the POS SDL was an ebay crappola. I am
batting .500 with ebay cars, unless you want to count the 240D in Iowa
that I got for $100, but only took some parts off it. Make it .650

Speaking of what the hell, what's with the insanity of the W123 on the
ebay
market? A 300TD with 79k was just bought outright for over $18k!
That's
like 55% of MSRP! It the enviro-frenzy getting that bad?

People are stupid. If you consider that the folks on this list,
whether they
are college graduates or not, are probably in the 95 percentile or
above in
intelligence, that means that out of every one hundred folks you meet,
you
will think that the great percentage of them are idiots. Combine this
with
Home Equity Lines Of Credit, ten thousand dollar plus credit limits on
credit cards, and the reputation of bullet proof Benzes, and you have
eBay.
I bought my cars from private sellers, whose cars I just happened to
notice
in front of their homes for sale. I believe that Clay (Redghost) had
bought
Gump on eBay. Some have luck, you just gotta know what to look for.
Carboned
up cars, and cars with bad B2 pistons, can sometimes be had for cheap.
We
know this, because we are here, and we work on this stuff every day.
The
pristine cars go for big bucks. I believe things will turn around,
because
the majority of the populous know NOTHING of a mechanical nature, let
alone
MB diesels and they will get tired of getting screwed at the shop. It
is not
like the early 20th century, where people actually fixed their own
vehicles.
