Well, if you care about the cat, you probably should not wait too long
to check it out. My son's 7 year old cat appeared to be off his feed and
then to be having some trouble breathing. They took him to the vet and
he was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. While at the vet's
discussing what to do, he died. Extra stress of being at the vet's
maybe? In any event they were somewhat horrified.
On the other hand, our poor old Bichon had a heart murmur for years. We
were told that would likely be the ultimate cause of his death but it
did not finish him off before he developed so many other issues that we
ultimately had him put down.
