Yeah, that was my point.
I’ve seen the results of wild turkey as a food source, and I wasn’t
impressed. I would just as well get a fresh one from my butcher and let the
wild ones run wild. They’re pretty cool to see in the woods.
Kind of like grouse. Cool to watch, never understood the motivation behind
shooting/eating them.

We had turkeys all over the place in Wisconsin. Guy I worked with was
really good with those disc calls that you put in your mouth? He would
bring them in to work and demonstrate some of the calls he could do. It was
pretty cool. He had the wooden box thing you scratched or rubbed, too.
I wouldn’t care too much about shooting one but I think it would be cool
to see if I could use a call and get some to show up.

I have never successfully shot a turkey. In the past my scouting has
been insufficient. I've also purchased a couple decoys for this year's hunt.

I've taken 2 chipmunks in the last 2 weeks with my airgun. I saw my
first starling yesterday. Starlings and English sparrows are both invasive
and chipmunks are just destructive.Skunks are also on the list and I'd
consider shooting one in the wild but not in the backyard...
We do need a special permit for turkeys, I think its $5.

I've been scouting turkeys, our season opens on the 27th. I've got a
good spot behind a friend's house but its a 20 minute drive away so I'm

have 100 other hunters. I've put out some corn in front of the game camera
but nothing yet...
