On my truck swap trip with my pops, we picked up a few things languishing in Illinois that we’ve wanted in AZ for quite awhile. One thing in particular is my wife’s grandmother’s console stereo. It’s a Philco. I’m having trouble finding info on it. It hasn’t been energized in probably 40 years, but it works well. All i’ve done so far is take the back off, vacuumed the schmutz out, took some canned air to it. The tuning for the FM is a little staticky so i suppose contact cleaner is in order? Do i just unplug it, spray as many contacts as i see, let it dry overnight and try again tomorrow? I’m going to get a new needle/cartridge, even though Queen News of The World sounded just fine. Good source? Oh, my new 2005 Dodge 2500 SLT 4x4 Cummins 5.9 ram like a scalded dog...after I got after it in the mountains...Eye-talian tuneups galore. 24mpg , took it up over Wolf Creek pass, didn’t miss a beat.
