Yes that is an option. It would probably decrease glare also if you choose
a reflective color and have houses above you to complain.

Honestly I cannot detect any visual damage on my parents' roof, and it sees
serious hail. Insurance gave them replacement cost. You may also wish to
check and specify a heavier metal gauge, as thicker metal is going to
resist hail denting more.
