Almost bought one of these in pristine condition. no turbo is slow. I regret NOT buying it.

The 0-60 mph time of the 124.128 and the 124.131 is almost the same 12.8 vs 12.6 sec. and the fuel consumption will be nearly identical (32-36 mpg highway). About the only reason to prefer the turbo engine is if you do much driving at altitudes above 3000' or at speeds much above 80 mph were the turbo gives you an slight edge. Both have a top speed of about 122-123 mph at sea level.

The 0-60 time for a 124.133 ('87 300D) would be under 11 sec once the trap was removed, highway economy at 29-31 mpg and top speed about 5-6 mph faster (128mph).
