I know this is kinda dated, but I've been out of town for a few weeks.

I'd be much more concerned about the state of the climate control than
I would about the wiring harness. Changing an engine wiring harness is
relatively painless (and cheap) compared to pulling the entire
interior to preplace a leaking evaporator!

Seriously, replacing the engine wiring harness is not that difficult a
DIY job. If I routinely traveled in lower altitudes, I'd go with the
'95 over the turbo.

The '95 E300Ds with the OM606.91 engine (124.131) have the bad wiring
harness (not real expensive). The wiring harness in the '93 and earlier
300D 2.5s (124.128) was fine.
