More to the point, the value of US dollars has gone down by a third, thanks to the Treasury and the Fed. Check the M1. M2, and M3 charts if you can find them. The Fed discontinued publishing M3 data some time ago and discontinued weekly M1 and M2 data recently (your inner voice should be screaming WTH?). If you can buy something now that's needed and durable, do so. This will not end well.
