I found that removing the ALDA was easy -- two adjustable wrenches, one to hold the body and the other to turn the captive nut (on the W124, you must also remove the windshield washer tank). Once the nut is loose, you have to tilt the ALDA to get it out, a bit fiddly but not bad. Then it's just the back screw.

Too bad they didn't use the other "corners" for the screws -- much easier that way!

Easy to tell if you have it hooked in correctly, too, as on this pump the shutoff pulls the manual stop lever down. Apply vac once it's installed, if the lever moves down to the stop position, it's OK.
