Let us also take a look at the current proposal of letting anyone here 5+
years apply for citizenship - absolute bonanza for forgers; 2 - 5 years to
exit and reapply - bonanza for forgers and less than honest immigration
workers [reported to be a problem already]; getting rid of the rest. 90
days to process up to 12 million people, including finding them to begin
with, doing a detail document check to sort out forgeries. Then of course
there are the usual case of dad has been here 6 years, mom only 3, etc. I am
not sure I could prove I was working 5 years ago without IRS and employer
records. Say we could somehow find all the workers we need already trained
to speak the correct languages, spot forged documents, and determine who was
really supposed to fit into which category. Assuming the 90 days is 90
working days and not three months - that means that if this imaginary work
force could each do 25 full checks a day [which I doubt would be possible,
including calls to the sub-contractors who supplied day laborers to farmers
to ask about their records of hiring illegals, paid in cash, from 5 years
ago] we would need 5,333 workers for each of the 90 days. I'm sure none of
them would get ill, quit, or be a slow worker.
I think we would also need to assign all state and national legislators
to be part of such a work force. At least they wouldn't be able to suggest
any equally impossible legislation while they were trying to do that.
Such a well thought out plan.
I just wish I had a better one to answer all the problems.

The logic is irrefutable, impractical, but absolutely logical! Imagine the
cost of deporting 12+ million people (use the costs of moving a million or
so out of New Orleans as a staring place).
