SO MY QUESTION IS, is this a noted failure pattern for the temp sensor?
I have had a failed one, it read low IIRC. It is an easy test, I just use an IR thermometer on the head at the sender and see if it matches the gauge. Takes about a minute, most of that is popping the hood and finding the sender so you can shoot it. Unless you wish to shotgun parts, the only way to proceed on your problem is to use a thermometer of some sort to determine if the condition you are observing is a lie. -- Jim
