I didn't watch the video, but in general the railroads are suffering the same 
problem as many other employers: lack of staff and difficulty hiring. Modern 
railroads run less scheduled trains and more "when the train is ready we go" 
ad-hoc. Engineers and conductors are living out of hotels, getting called with 
two hours notice that they are going halfway across the country. What used to 
be a predictable job with good pay is now much more unpredictable and 
experienced employees are quitting or retiring and telling their kids to pursue 
a different line of work. The railroads are probably hoping they can ride it 
out until fully autonomous trains are ready and approved, but there's more 
skill to keeping a mile-long train on the tracks while also making good time, 
not stalling on grades, not breaking couplers, and not wasting fuel than you 
might think.
