That line will go back into the fitting, take off the fitting and jam it in there then tighten it back.

Interesting the filter looks like the hose broke, probably worth a new one.  See if the pump works OK after fitting a new one.

Looks really dirty up in there!

Looks like the main line from the compressor to the nearby manifold has popped 
out of its fitting.

Also note the intake hose and air filter lying in the pan under the compressor.

The open end of the intake hose should fit in the little round recess I'm 
pointing to in the second photo? Don't see any other clip or likely place for 
it.

And the other plastic line should connect to the pump where indicated in the 
third photo?

I'll order a new intake hose and filter, but if the pump has been sucking unfiltered air 
for a while, I presume it might have some excess wear. Might replace it proactively if 
the "5503 Recovery time during filling central reservoir is too long" code 
persists?
