I had a ignition put on my 1980 300D and the steering lock now doesn't work.
and there doesn't seem to be any Vacuum, barely shuts the engine off. I got a
mighty vac tool and want to know how much vacuum the pump should be putting
out.

I disconected the green line and the yellow with the blue or black stripe,
seems to work better though not real normal. Also the power brakes don't seem
to be working real well if they are applied a few times..

Question: if you buy a part from a guy, and the part is defective, what's
the usual policy on refunds? Does the guy refund the part price, the cost
of the repair, going halfsies on repair, or what?

I'm specifically asking about Rusty's policy, because I bought a
transmission pan gasket from (gasp) another guy and it was defective. Cost
me towing and replacement of the gasket, 6L of ATF, and labor. The part
seller is refunding me the cost of the gasket and no more.
