Dennis, IIRC the OM606 series is notorious for having fuel leaks with the
fittings near the fuel filter(s), which allows fuel out and/or air into the
system. I'd check to make sure all these fittings are tight and install new
o-rings and hoses. Unfortunately, that's all I got for ya.

Good luck!

Folks,

The daughters new (to her) 1995 E300D has quit on her a couple of times,
it
left her stranded the other night. She thought she had run out of fuel
although the gage said she had a bit under 1/2 a tank. She did not attempt
to start it in case it was out of fuel. She returned to the vehicle the
next
day with 5 gallons of diesel poured it in the tank and it started
immediately so it was not out of fuel.
