Yes and the Chinese are reproducing versions of small Japanese cars like
Suzuki and Daihatsu.
However to cut costs (so they can sell them for around AU$5000) they are not
putting seat belts in the back.

Not necessarily. The big Kia cars are almost a clone of the C-Class.
