at 230k miles, the heads were more than ready to be done if not yet done.

Today I went and changed the oil on my 420SEL. After oil change, I cranked up the car and it ran for about 5-6 seconds. Then it would not start. Then it would not turn over, locked up. Well after some investigation and removing valve covers, I found that the timing chain guide broke and well it now needs new valves. Since the car has 230k miles I am debating if it is worth the time to do a head job or not.
