Absolutely, avoiding a potential accident is no time to try new driving techniques. This only works if you have the time and safe place to practice the technique over and over until you do it correctly and automatically in an emergency situation. I'm not saying that cars shouldn't have ABS, or that everyone should try this. ABS certainly saves a lot of lives, and prevents a lot of accidents between normal drivers that don't take the time to study and practice emergency maneuvers.
