The lower cost universal replacements are not worth the trouble. They don't
have the correct connection for Mercedes antenna cable, plus they are
incredibly cheap.

The Hirshman antenna on my '81 300SD only goes down to the last section.
Car wash jockey banged on it the last time and now it won't go up all the
way.  I am suspecting that a replacement is in order.  What am I looking at,
or what is recommended to get it working properly?  I have seen them from
@$30 to over $100 with lots of claims.  Anyone have a working one at a
decent price?
