We have replaced all bushings, ball joints, shocks, mounts, tie rod ends, strut rod mounts, etc. but there is still a horrible creak going over speedbumps (more so when the weather is cold). 1985 300CD, otherwise mechanically perfect.
Could it be the springs? Rubbed through the rubber pad, or perhaps a foreign object trapped in there? Were the springs removed? Did they get their ends appropriately trapped in the stamped bumps that are there for them (I think)? -- Jim
