We have replaced all bushings, ball joints, shocks, mounts, tie rod ends, strut rod mounts, etc. but there is still a horrible creak going over speed
bumps (more so when the weather is cold).  1985 300CD, otherwise
mechanically perfect.

Could it be the springs?  Rubbed through the rubber pad, or perhaps
a foreign object trapped in there?  Were the springs removed?  Did
they get their ends appropriately trapped in the stamped bumps
that are there for them (I think)?
