Most of the issues with the VW Golf as with any of the VW's is the cam seals leaking. The tdi seems to be fairly reliable for the most part. I have never heard anything about TB's braking and VW recommends they be changed at 80 to 105,000 miles along with the water pump. I do however recommend using a 505 01 grade oil to prevent cam seals from shrinking. Castrol makes a txt oil specifically for VW's Harry 69 280 SEL 135,000 Miles 72 350SL 118,000 Miles 2004 VW Passat 4 Motion 1999 Mazda Miata -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: mercedes@okiebenz.com Sent: Fri, 4 May 2007 10:31 AM Subject: [MBZ] OT Any Known Issues 04 Golf TDI
I know many of you are knowledgeable on VW models. We're looking casually at an '04 Golf TDI and need the inside information regarding any known issues with that particular model. We may go look at it today or tomorrow, but want any red flags to save us a trip.
