In an R12 system converted to R134a, I've heard that the service port adapter fittings are "permanently" installed. Is this done with threadlocker? Could they be removed to do a reverse conversion, e.g. by using heat?
Yup. And the cheapies don't even really need that. I've removed a connector or two, and have yet to need heat. -- Jim
