Have you changed the oil yet? If not, do you know what's in the crankcase? For all you know, it could be something slightly thicker than water which would explain the problem. There are MANY out there who don't use Diesel rated oils in their diesels. In other words, if you haven't already done it, change the oil and see what happens.
