Sounds pretty close to this one. It is a 73 and Commando and Jeepster appear to be about the same with a different name. The door latches are pretty minimal and the driver's side retainer strap is gone. A bit of bondo but mostly just pretty heavy surface rust where the paint has given up. 3 on the floor and an inline 6. I have not driven it but he says it is pretty torquy (is that a word?) in low.

The '67 Commando I drove in high school said "Jeepster" on it, I'm fairly certain. Had a Kelly steel cab and roll up windows. Driver's door check strap was busted, so if I took a right turn hard enough to flex the chassis and pop the door open, the wierd airflow would suck the door open against the fender, and I'd have to get out to retrieve the door. Dad paid $500 for it in the late 1970's. It looked ok at first, then all the bondo that was holding it together fell out. Neat thing about it was the 3 on the floor shifter and 4.27:1 axles. You could drive it around in town in 2nd gear and never have to shift. The 231 Buick didn't mind starting out in 2nd gear high range, and it was good for 35-40mph. _______________________________________ _______________________________________ http://www.okiebenz.com For new parts see official list sponsor: http://www.buymbparts.com/ For used parts email [EMAIL PROTECTED] To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
