Might pay to teach your son to put more fuel in the car when the light comes on, it is considered bad to reset the trip meter with the car in motion (well it is in the notorious W123 trip/odometers). I personally don't understand why some people only refuel when they are very near empty. However if money is tight and pay day is a couple of days away, some have no option but to.
