My 124 diesel has run almost always at an indicated 80 degrees since
I've had it (five years or so), occasionally getting up to 85 at most
in heavy summer traffic.  Seems to be running just fine.  Of course
that's assuming the gauge is accurate.  I bet the senders creep one
way or the other with age.
