seems unlikely to me for a person to be in a situation where the
ignition's off and the steering wheel's locked and they were to e
needing brakes; in that case, letting the person behind them know that
they're braking wouldn't likely be one of their highest concerns!
i can think of several reasons why i wouldn't want the brake lights
to be functional without the key in (mostly resulting in various methods
of draining the battery).
i can't think of one good reason why we'd need brake lights without
a key; only that it's cheaper to make the car that way. if you've
thought of "a few reasons", please; do share at least a couple! (i've
seen your other posts, so i'll remind you that there's no need to make
things up; remember that i'm not your wife, and you don't need to
'win'!) ;-)
