As others have suggested start running M1 and keep changing the filters 
every 1K miles - they're pretty cheap.  The Synthetic will suspend the crud 
(slowly) and circulate it to the filter to be well, filtered ;-)

I'd prefer running oil in the engine to the other stuff suggested (diesel, 
etc) since oil is supposed to run in the engine.  Not sure what that other 
stuff would do to seals, gaskets, etc but we know oil wil not harm anything.

It's not a fast process but it will eventually clean everything out.
