Sounds like arthritis setting in. Perhaps going to the gym for a workout might help the situation :-) Anyway the male part of the door latch mechanism can be adjusted, it happens that over time they move inwards slightly. That Isuzu I bought recently needed all four doors adjusting and works well now.
