I did burn a CD on Mom's computer [my CD/DVDRW is not working well], but
didn't have the option of making a bootable disk.  Not a problem with the
virtual CD drive, btu not usable on a new single hard drive.

I would recommend using Kubuntu for a desktop and first time user. Why
didnt you burn a CD?
